F&M State Bank collecting money for 'Free Swim'
Farmers & Merchants State Bank is collecting donations to sponsor a number of free swim days throughout the summer for children in Wadena at the New York Mills Community Pool. The bank will be matching all donations up to $500 received through July 9th, 2010.
"After doing a little checking, we heard that what the kids in Wadena might really like is a place to enjoy some summer swim time, since their pool was right in the path of the recent tornado," said F&M State Bank Executive Vice President, Al Berube. "We also wanted to provide the residents of New York Mills a focused plan for any donations they might wish to make."
Donations can be made in a couple of ways: In person at Farmers & Merchants State Bank in New York Mills (both inside the lobby and through the drive-up lanes), or to the volunteers who will be walking the parade route at the New York Mills parade on Friday, July 2 at 6:30 pm.
The free swim days will run from 1-5 p.m. and the number of days depends on the amount of money collected. Dates will be coordinated with NYM Pool Manager Heidi Van Dyke.
Wadena Social Services will work to notify the residents of Wadena of the dates and times, as well as hopefully coordinate transportation to the free swim days.
