The Eagles struck first in the second half with nice drive that was finished when Charlie Peeters connected with Tyler Patron on a 21-yard touchdown pass to put Mills up 6-0.

Browerville came right back and answered with their own touchdown and a two-point conversion to make it 8-6 heading to the final dozen game minutes.

"A very physical football game that saw both teams running hard and tackling well," Eagles Head Coach Matt Radniecki said. "Our team played very well for the third week in a row.

The eagles came into the contest winners of two straight games and battled Browerville, the likely top seed in the section for a full four quarters.

New York Mills has made great strides in the level of play, competition and intensity after starting the season 0-4.

Browerville made a few more plays late in the game to pick up the W in a very even game.

Both teams accumulated 15 first downs and each squad had two turnovers.

The Tigers outrushed the Eagles 243-177 and scored all three of their touchdowns on the ground.

The first half of play was a defensive battle with neither team yielding.

Browerville extended their fourth quarter lead to 15-6, only to be answered by a Tyler Patron four-yard touchdown run and PAT kick from Shane Novak cutting the Tiger lead to just two points, 15-13.

"I was very proud of how hard we played," Radniecki said.

Browerville converted on fourth and five for their final score.

Browerville sits atop the Prairie Conference - South division at 5-0. The Eagles are 2-3.

"If we stop them, who knows how this game ends up?" said Radniecki. "We are playing our best football at the right time and we face a very good Barnesville team on Thursday at the FargoDome."
