Francis L. Mansager, 78, Vergas, died on Friday, August 8, 2008 in the Perham Memorial Nursing Home, Perham.
Francis Lorraine Detling was born the daughter of Reuel and Jessie (Hayes) Detling on March 12, 1930 in Bemidji. She grew up and attended school in Blackduck, Minn., where she graduated from high school in 1948. She then attended Bemidji Business College, graduating in 1949. She worked for the Blackduck Forestry Service until her marriage to Eugene Mansager of Fenton, Iowa in 1950. They had five children and resided there until 1962, when they moved to Blackduck.
In 1965, Lorraine and Eugene moved to Fargo, where they lived until 1993. During that time, Lorraine worked as a medical transcriptionist. Lorraine and Eugene retired to a home on Loon Lake, near Vergas. Lorraine was a member of the Vergas Lions Club. She loved painting, music, reading, her family and grandchildren. She was also very proud to be the great-great granddaughter of Pierre Bottineau, a famous voyageur and scout for the Army.
Lorraine is survived by her husband, Eugene "Skip" Mansager of Vergas; two sons, Mike Mansager of West Fargo and Melvin (Sydni) Mansager of Barnesville; two daughters, Patty (Brian) Femling of Baxter, Minn., and Julie (Darrel) Reiter of West Fargo; one sister, Dorothy Bandh of Mound, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were a daughter, Gwendolyn and her parents, Ed and Jessie Page.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, with a prayer service beginning at 7 p.m. in the United Methodist Church, Vergas and also one hour prior to services in the church on Tuesday.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, at the United Methodist Church in Vergas, with the Rev. Gary Klempke officiating. Burial will be in Lake Sybil Cemetery, Vergas.
Arrangements are being provided by the Furey Funeral Home in Vergas.
