A variety of perspectives on the timber industry, specific to the northern regions of Minnesota where the three 'biomes' merge, are shared in "Timber: Dead and Down" from executive producer Jeff Schlossman. On the cusp of the coniferous forest, the deciduous forest, and the prairie grasslands, and at the turn of the century, the timber industry helped grow the region of Becker County, Minnesota, which was not only a truly unique configuration of environments, but was also the "wild west" of its time.

Directed by Krik Roos, the film explores the rich history of the logging industry through a unique story-telling style combining historical footage, letters from loggers and their families, plus modern-day perspectives from area experts in the field. With beautiful footage by well-known cinematographer, Tom Tollesfon, original music from the region, and a sense of folklore and tall tales, this full length documentary is an easy-going, fun and historical story, with an ability to educate, as well as entertain.

This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. DVD copies of the documentary will be available for sale.
