Minneapolis/St. Paul – March 26, 2014 – Team USA Minnesota’s Gabriele Grunewald will be among the elite competitors at the 29th annual Carlsbad 5000 in California on March 30. The women’s elite race will be held at 10:45 a.m. (Pacific time) and the men’s elite race begins at 11:15 a.m. (see www.RunnerSpace.com for a live Webcast).

Grunewald is the 2014 USA Indoor 3000 meter champion and most recently competed at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Sopot, Poland. Her best in the 3000m is 8:42.64.

In the 5k distance, Grunewald has a best of 15:44. In 2012 at the USA 5k Road Championships, she placed fourth.

After Carlsbad, Grunewald will compete in the USA 1 Mile Road Championships in Des Moines on April 22 and then turn her attention to the outdoor track season.
