GBB: Hawley hands Perham fifth straight HOL defeat

HAWLEY — The Nuggets held the Perham girls basketball team to their lowest offensive output since the opener versus Staples-Motley in a 48-31 Heart O’ Lakes Conference loss Friday night.

Mira Ellefson scored 17 points to pace the Nuggets and lead all scorers.

Hawley led 22-15 at halftime and outscored the Jackets 26-16 in the second half.

Karyssa Hovelson also scored in double figures for Hawley with 10 points.

Senior Tina Scheidecker led Perham scoring eight points.

Perham falls to 2-7 in the HOL and 8-13 overall.

The Nuggets (6-2) are two games behind leader Pelican Rapids at 8-0 in conference play. Hawley is 12-6 overall.
