Genealogy presentation to be held in Perham
This summer, the Friends of the History Museum of East Otter Tail County are hosting several workshops and lectures about family history and cultural heritage.
On Sunday, July 1 at 3 p.m., Pastor Phil Holtan of Calvary Lutheran Church in Perham will present "DNA Research as a Tool for Genealogy."
Holtan will present how DNA research can be used in two ways in genealogy: to discover your "deep ancestry" and to find common ancestors. Both ways can greatly enhance a family's understanding of their roots and can take people further back in history than any other method.
This event is free and open to the public, but reservations are requested.
The History Museum is located at 230 First Avenue North in Perham. In the event of a larger than anticipated number of reservations, the event may be moved to a bigger space.
