Geneva Rovine Burcham, 67, of Perham, MN passed away unexpectedly at Park View Hospital in Ft. Wayne, IN on June 20, 2009.

Geneva was born, January 31, 1942 in Kahoka, MO to Norma and Warren Howe. The family moved to Oregon where Geneva was raised. In Oregon she met and married Ervin Burcham on July 6, 1959. Soon after the couple moved to North Dakota where she worked for the school district as a special education teacher, and Ervin as a law enforcement officer. Here they raised their children, Michael, Theresa, Patricia, Kathy and David.

In 1981 Geneva moved to Perham to raise her children Kathy, David, and soon after daughter Crystal. In Perham she worked as a school aide. She has been in Perham ever since.

Geneva enjoyed camping, four-wheeling, garage saling, gardening, taking care of her grandchildren, watching Animal Planet and sci-fi movies.

Surviving Geneva is her brother, Danny of Missouri, Dale (Skeeter) of Oregon, sisters, Martha and Debra of Oregon. Children: Mark (Gale), of Oregon; Michael (Jackie), Wadena, MN; Theresa (David), of Valley City, ND; Patricia (Joseph), of Ft. Wayne, IN; Kathy (Keith), of Perham, MN, David (Karen), of Wadena, and Crystal (Joseph), of Perham. Also, 31 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Special family friends, Amy Hein, Cameron Eller, Michael Hatchard, and Wilma Heidorn. Many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents Norma and Dale McElroy, and Warren Howe; husband Ervin; grandpa Harvey; son-in-law Robert Freyholtz; and granddaughters, Maria Lynn Hahn-Burcham and Larissa Paige Burcham.

She will be profoundly missed by all that knew her. Her giving heart and kind words softened many a heart, and for this she will be dearly missed.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Silder Funeral Home of Ft. Wayne, IN and David Donehower in Detroit Lakes, MN. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Perham. Vsitation will be one hour prior to service.
