George Julian Rosenthal was born on March 1, 1930, at home in Dent, to Carl and Mary (Perszyk) Rosenthal. George grew up in Dent, attended school at St. Joseph in rural Dent, and graduated from Perham High School with the class of 1947. After graduating, George worked on the family farm in Dent. He was drafted into the United States Army and served during the Korean War. When he returned home he was employed at Twin City Arsenal and later at Land O' Lakes in Perham, for 25 years, retiring in 1992. On Jan. 8, George passed away at Perham Health in Perham, at age 82. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Preceding George in death were his parents; sister, Irene; and three brothers, Jim, Norbert and Leo.
George is survived by his daughters, Kathy (Jim) Rutten of Staples and Carol (Joe) Peters of Dent; sons, Gary (Deb) Rosenthal of Bertha, Minn., Greg Rosenthal of Pelican Rapids, Minn., Glen Rosenthal of Alexandria, Minn., and Gordy (Julie) Rosenthal of Staples, Minn.; sisters, Lucille Schmitz of Dent and Mary (John) Jones of St. Paul, Minn.; other relatives and a host of friends.
