Girls Basketball: Jackets get second win of the season

PERHAM -- The Yellowjackets girls basketball team finished regular season play on a high note getting their second win of the season in a 63-44 victory over Sebeka Thursday evening.

Miranda Lockhart scored a game-high 24 points and Tina Scheidecker added 10 points in the victory.

Despite the victory, Perham (2-22) is the No. 8-seed in the 8AA Southwest Section playoffs and will face No. 1 seed, Hawley (19-4). The Nuggets are ranked No. 9 in the latest state poll. The game will be played in Hawley, Thursday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m.

Hawley has won 10 straight games and 18 of the last 19 games after starting the season 1-3.

The winner will face the winner of Wadena-Deer Creek and Frazee.
