Girls Basketball: Nuggets advance, end Perham's season

HAWLEY -- The No. 9-2A Hawley Nuggets defeated Perham 42-17 in the play-in round of Section 8AA Southwest Subsection playoffs Thursday evening.

Perham ends their season with a record of 2-23. The top-seeded Nuggets improve to 20-4 and will face the fifth-seed Wadena-Deer Creek.

The Wolverines upset the four-seed Frazee 47-46.

Pelican Rapids (3) defeated Breckenridge (6) by a score of 55-52. The Vikings will face Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton (2). The Rebels defeated Barnesville 52-36.

In the Northeast Subsection, top-seeded Crookston had a bye and will play Warroad. The Warriors got by Bagley 56-21.

Pequot Lakes (2) defeated Roseau (7) 93-80. The Patriots will play Crosby-Ironton (3). The Rangers beat Park Rapids Area 62-47.

All quarterfinal games will take place Saturday, March 2. The SW Sub games will be at Concordia College - Moorhead. The NE games will be at Bemidji State University.
