PELICAN RAPIDS — Heavy Thursday winds played havoc with golfers at the Girls Heart O’ Lakes Conference meet. The weather and seven conference foes did not stand in the way of the Perham girls golf team winning their fourth straight HOL meet and sealing the regular season conference championship.

Alexa Bekkerus of Pelican Rapids continues to be near the top and was the meet’s Medalist with a low round of 40. Bekkerus or Perham’s Rachel Nelson have been the only two golfers to win meets in the HOL this season.

Nelson finished third with a 42, along with Olivia Rasmussen of Hawley who took second on a tiebreak after also shooting 42. Perham’s Becca Huus and Destiny Mitchell finished fourth and fifth, respectively, after both carding 44’s. Hawley’s Rylie Danielson was sixth with a score of 46.

Other Perham scores: Liz Sonnenberg shot a 49; Lexi Richter 51, Michaela Soule 55. The top four scores are used for the team total. Perham was the only team with four golfers shooting under 50, leading to a comfortable 13-stroke win over Hawley 179-192. Pelican Rapids finished third (197).
