Glen W. Madson, 53, of Lake Park, died unexpectedly Saturday, September 20, 2008, in St. Mary's Innovis Health, Detroit Lakes.


Glen was born to J. Donald and Alice (Larson) Madson on Aug. 4, 1955, in Detroit Lakes. He grew up and attended school in Lake Park, graduating from Lake Park High School. Following high school, he moved to Colorado for a brief time before moving back to Lake Park.

On July 2, 1983, Glen married Pam Hanson in Lake Park. He enjoyed working for Aggregate Industries for the past 33 years. He was a lifelong member of Lake Park Lutheran Church.

Glen loved being outdoors, hunting and fishing, spending time at the deer shack, and watching baseball, especially the Twins. He was a member of the Midnight Riders Snowmobile Club. He was great with kids, and loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He enjoyed life.

Surviving Glen are his wife of 25 years, Pam Madson of Lake Park; two brothers, Gary (Susan) Madson and John (Mary Lu) Madson, both of Lake Park; one sister, Jean (Eldon) Griffin of Coon Rapids, Minn.; a daughter, Heather (Aaron) Brockman of Duluth, Minn.; a son, Shawn Ford of Lake Park; one granddaughter and one grandson; father-in-law, H.L. Red Hanson; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog, Toby.

Preceding Glen in death were his parents, Donald and Alice Madson; one brother, Bruce Madson; and mother-in-law, Elvina.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at Wright Funeral Home in Hawley.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at Lake Park Lutheran Church, Lake Park, with burial following at Lake Park Lutheran Cemetery in Lake Park.
