Golf Cart Comedy Tour at PLGC July 11
Do golf and comedy really go together? Anyone who has ever seen Caddyshack can answer that.
On June 20, The Golf Cart Comedy Tour brings the laughs Perham Lakeside Country Club with nationally touring comedian John DeBoer and "Last Comic Standing's" Tim Harmston.
Having appeared at comedy clubs, colleges, three federal penitentiaries, as well as on Comedy Central, and in national TV commercials, John DeBoer's nerve-hitting show flows from the devious side of childhood to the never-ending pressures of our times. His twisted observations of life and the world around him have earned John a reputation as one of the most consistently strong acts wherever he goes.
DeBoer, who now lives in Orlando, FL attended third grade in Perham. "I have to admit, I did copy off Kristin's paper. She sat right in front of me and we always got a hundred!" Referring to former KSTP anchor Kristin (Sonnenberg) Geer, who also went to Perham Elementary. Though not a very good golfer himself, he loves to be out on the course. "I spend a lot of time in the woods, looking for my club," he says. "I know where the ball is. It's right where I left it."
Tim Harmston began his comedy career in 2002 at an open mic night at the prestigious Mall of America, the second largest shopping mall in the world. Only one year later, he won Acme Comedy Company's 2003 Funniest Person in the Twin Cities contest and was chosen by Comedy Central to participate in their Open Mic Fight. In June of 2008 Tim made his network television debut on NBC's Last Comic Standing.
