Good eats, impressive feats: New York Mills corn feed and puppet pageant a hit once again
Hordes of people gathered in downtown New York Mills last Friday for the community’s annual free corn feed and puppet pageant. Crowds ate and conversed in anticipation of the big event, a larger-than-life pageant featuring a cast of local kids and adults, many of whom walk on stilts for the performance and have made their own costumes ahead of time. The pageant told a modernized version of the Finnish epic poem, the Kalevala. As is usual for this popular summer event, turnout was strong again this year.
