The dental office is located at 200 1st Ave S in downtown Perham. People interested in scheduling an appointment for Friday, Feb. 1 may call the office at 346-4775.

The Minnesota Dental Association is sponsoring the statewide outreach effort, called Give Kids a Smile, because dentists are committed to providing all children with dental care and helping eliminate barriers to care throughout Minnesota.

Now celebrating its 11th consecutive year, Give Kids a Smile has provided free dental care to more than 50,000 children. About 200 clinics across the state will open their doors for this program during the first week of February.

"This is a special way to reach children in need of dental care," said Dr. Mike Hamann. "Healthy teeth are vital to overall health and a key to success in school and life."

This is the fifth year Hamann Family Dentistry has participated in this program, and it's one of the only dental clinics in Otter Tail County to do so.

Patients seeking appointments should be age 18 and younger and accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Information on specific services that will be provided will be outlined when an appointment is scheduled.

The Minnesota Dental Association represents 78 percent of practicing dentists. Learn more at www.mndental.org.
