Henning man charged with theft, illegal sale of vehicle
Jesse McKenna, 26, of Henning, appeared in Otter Tail County District Court on Tuesday, charged with the theft on an automobile.
According to court records, on May 3 McKenna allegedly took possession of a vehicle, described legally as moveable property, without the consent of the owner.
The victim alleges that McKenna, a former boyfriend, stole a 1995 Pontiac Bonneville. She told authorities that McKenna was to have taken the vehicle in for repair, but instead, he sold it. The owner still had title to the car.
The buyer of the car told authorities that he obtained a title to the vehicle, later deemed to be a fake. Court records also stated it was likely that McKenna forged the name of the victim on the fake title.
McKenna’s next court appearance has been scheduled for Monday, Nov. 25.
