Henning man sentenced in connection with a man found dead on highway
A Henning man will serve 30 days in jail in connection with an accident where he failed to stop after a man jumped out his moving car and died.
A judge sentenced James Seaver to 365 days in jail on a gross misdemeanor DUI charge. All but 30 will be stayed.
He'll also pay more than $4,000 in fines and fees. It was part of a plea agreement. Seaver originally faced felony charges.
Dajun Honer, 31, died from traumatic head injuries caused by the fall. Seaver, who had a blood alcohol level over .20, says he didn't realize that Honer had jumped out.
