Historical folk music concert Nov. 11 at ITOW
Julie Johnson and the No-Accounts will perform a concert of historical folk music on Sunday, Nov. 11 at 3 p.m. at the ITOW Veterans Museum in Perham.
Johnson's performance is one of a series of public programs scheduled for November that celebrates Minnesota in the 1800s. Selections from her program will include the tune of an old Northwoods shanty boy song from the logging camps; an arrangement for vocals, flute, mandolin and bass clarinet of Bob Dylan's little-known "Winterlude"; an arrangement of a Métis Jig; and a pioneer hymn from the Laura Ingalls Wilder Songbook.
During November and December, ITOW will be hosting exhibits from the Prospect House and Civil War Museum and the Becker County Historical Society as well as information and photographs from the archives of the History Museum of East Otter Tail County.
These programs are free and open to the public.
The concert is funded in part by a grant from the Lake Region Arts Council through a Minnesota State Legislative appropriation. ITOW is located at 805 West Main in Perham. For more information, call 346-7678 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
