Hit and run on Sunday leaves one man injured near Frazee
After an altercation between two young men, one allegedly hit the other with a car and fled the scene early Sunday morning on Frazee Road near Acorn Lake in Burlington Township.
Dan Leslie, 23, of Frazee was taken by St. Mary's Ambulance to Essentia Health St. Mary' hospital in Detroit Lakes. He suffered bruising, abrasions and other medical issues after being hit by the car, according to Becker County Sheriff Tim Gordon.
The driver of the 2002 Ford Taurus was identified as Eli Anderson, 26, of rural Vergas in Otter Tail County. He allegedly left the scene after the incident and was later located, Gordon said. The Becker County Attorney's Office will decide whether to press charges after all investigative work is complete, Gordon said.
The incident started at a lakeshore lot on Acorn Lake at about 2:45 a.m. Sunday, with the two young men being part of a group of a half-dozen or so people at the lake. The hit-and-run occurred a short distance away on Frazee Road, Gordon said.
Assisting at the scene were state troopers, Detroit Lakes police officers and Frazee Rescue workers.
