Fellow status represents achievement of the highest standard of professional development. Only 7,500 health care executives hold this distinction, according to ACHE.

To obtain fellow status, candidates must pass a comprehensive examination, meet academic and experiential criteria, earn continuing education credits, and demonstrate professional and community involvement.

ACHE fellows must undergo recertification every three years.

Hofius has been chief executive officer at Perham Health since 1997. He is a graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead with a bachelor of science degree in finance. He also has a master’s degree in health administration from the University of Minnesota.

Hofius is a member of several regional, state and national health care organizations, including the American College of Healthcare Executives, Minnesota College of Healthcare Executives, the American Hospital Association, the Minnesota Hospital Association, LeadingAge, and Aging Services of Minnesota. He was named Administrator of the Year by Aging Services of Minnesota in 2007.

He is also an active member of the Perham Rotary Club and will serve as its president in 2014. In addition, Hofius is involved in the Perham Area Chamber of Commerce, where he served as board chair in 2003. In 2004, he was the recipient of the chamber’s leadership award.

“It is an honor to become a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives,” Hofius commented. “The mission of Perham Health is to deliver health care services of the highest quality. The community deserves that level of care, provided by staff who demonstrate their commitment to upholding standards of excellence. I am proud to be recognized by ACHE for achieving this level of professional development.”

The American College of Healthcare Executives, an international professional society of more than 30,000 health care executives, is known for its prestigious credentialing and educational programs.
