Hope From the Heart Benefit to be Held for 9-Year Old Boy in Need of a Second Heart Transplant
Nathan Johnson is a typical nine-year-old kid. He loves to run and play, he goes to church and school, and he has a mom, dad, and little sister who love him very much. Unlike other kids, however, Nathan needs a new heart... again. Nathan received a heart transplant five years ago and things were going well. In the past few weeks, Nathan and his family were saddened to discover that his new heart was failing and he would need another transplant. St. John's Lutheran Church of Corliss, in association with other community organizations and businesses, is holding a benefit for Nathan's family called "Hope From the Heart." The event is scheduled for October 24th, 2010 at Prairie Wind Middle School from 11am-3pm.
The benefit will include a spaghetti dinner, bake sale, silent auction, fun and games for the kids, and more. Free will offerings will be accepted and funds will be partially matched by Thriven Financial. Donations can also be made to the Nathan Johnson Fund at any United Community Bank.
