Perham volleyball stars Katrina Moenkedick and Kaylan Huber will be playing in the North Central Minnesota all-star volleyball matches on Sun. Nov. 14 at Bemidji State University.

The games provide an opportunity for top-level junior and senior athletes to showcase their talent.

Both players will be featured on the same team coached by Carmen Johnson of Little Falls.

Joining Huber and Moenkedick will be: seniors Courtney Mould and Kelsey Melsa of Fisher; KayLeigh Kuznia and Chelsey Frydenlund of East Grand Forks, Katie Wangberg and Crysta Christensen of Pine River-Backus, Ashley Domino of Park Rapids and Kaylee Malmstrom of Cook.

Moenkedick is the only junior on the squad.

Moenkedick, a 5'10''junior outside and middle hitter for Perham-Dent High School is a three-year letter winner at Perham under head coach Dan Christenson.

In the 2010 season, Katrina had 291 kills, 185 assists, 29 service aces, 43 blocks, and 141 digs. She is currently at 464 kills for her career.

She helped Perham to two straight sub-section final appearances in 2008 and 2009. Katrina has also participated in track and field and was a first team all-conference selection in basketball her freshman and sophomore years. She has a 3.978 GPA and is a two-year letter winner in academics.

Katrina is the daughter of Andy and Katy Moenkedick. She was born May 1, 1993 and is the youngest of five. Her siblings are Kenny, Philip, Jolene, and Elisa.

Huber is a 5' 6" senior libero at Perham-Dent High School and plans to attend the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks,

Kaylan is a four-year letter winner at Perham.

Kaylan averaged 13.93 digs per match and 1.19 service aces per match in the 2010 season.

Kaylan helped Perham win the Heart of the Lakes Conference championship in 2008. Kaylan was a team captain in 2010. Kaylan also participates in basketball as a wo-year letter winner where she was all-conference honorable Mention as a junior and was the three-point and free throw percentage leader.

Kaylan is also a four-year letter winner and three-time all-conference member in golf and was an individual state participant in 2010. Kaylan has a 3.96 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society.

She is the daughter of Mark and Cyndy Huber. She was born June 22, 1992. Kaylan has two brothers, Sam and John.

Doors open at 10 a.m. for spectators and match play begins at 10:45 a.m.

The Heart O' Lakes all-conference volleyball team was released this week.

Joining Moenkedick and Huber from the Yellowjackets was Brooke Mickelson.

Mary Guck and Kelli Meehl were named honorable mention. The remainder of the all-conference squad:

Kaylee Pender, Mandy Mercil and Kim Brinkman - Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton.

Pender was also named the conference most valuable player.

Addie Vancura, Brooke Meyer and Tandi Thompson - Barnesville.

Jessy Noreen and Erica Amann - Hawley.

Anna Skow-Anderson - Pelican Rapids.

Kristi Smith - Frazee.

Jen Froemming - WCA.

Baylee Wilson - Breckenridge.
