Installation for new Ottertail Postmaster Gail Hustad June 25
The United States Postal Service announces the appointment of Gail Hustad to the position of Postmaster for the city of Ottertail which was effective in January.
As Postmaster, Hustad will be responsible for all customer service functions such as retail operations and delivery of mail in the city and rural areas of Ottertail.
The installation ceremony for Hustad will be held on Wednesday, June 25 at 2:30 p.m. at the Ottertail Post Office. Juanita Donohue, Manager of Post Office Operations for the Dakotas District, will administer the oath of office.
An open house is scheduled from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., with refreshments provided at the Ottertail Post Office.
Gail Hustad has been with the Postal Service for 22 years. During that time, Hustad has been Postmaster in Perley, MN; Manvel, ND; and most recently, Clitherall, MN where she has served the past 9-1/2 years. Hustad has also worked in the Fargo-Moorhead Post Office.
"It's busier here than in Clitherall," Hustad commented about her new location. She said she enjoys that the Ottertail Post Office gets a lot more window traffic.
"If you're in the area, just stop in and say 'hi,'" she added.
Hustad was officially appointed Postmaster in Ottertail on January 19. Prior to her arrival, the city had been without a Postmaster for two years, following the departure of former Ottertail Postmaster Darin Itzen.
Hustad recently married Arlyn Hustad on March 1, 2008 and they live south of Battle Lake with Karlie and James.
Her hobbies include bike riding, horseback riding, reading, hiking, canoeing, kayaking and spending time with family and friends.
