Kids in the Perham-Dent School District were excited to wake up to a snow day on Tuesday, after 8-10 inches of the wintry white stuff fell around the area overnight. According to some reports, as much as a foot of snow fell near Perham - the first big snowfall of the season. Many area schools closed for the day, or started late, to give the plows time to clear the roads and let people have a safer commute. Around town, kids were spotted playing in the snow, making forts and snowmen, while adults were out shoveling and snowplowing their driveways.
