Jackets beat section rival DL
Heavyweight and #2 ranked Jesse Hein continued to rack up the forfeits donating six points in a 42-25 victory over section rival Detroit Lakes.
"The section is up in the air," Head Coach Robb Moser said. "It's anyone's title to win."
The Lakers got off to a hot start. Gabe Foltz pinned Sam Pirrotta and Nate Francis won by fall over John Huber for an early 12-0 advantage.
Brandon Lueders continued to wrestle well pinning Austin Soyring to cut the lead in half.
Josh Werner made it four pins in succession taking out Laker Zack Baker and evening the score at a dozen each.
Luke Sailer won by forfeit at 130 pounds and the Jackets took the lead for good at 18-12.
Ty Haverland'd 8-2 decision over Tony Sims extended the Perham lead to 21-12.
Back to back victories for the Lakers cut the Perham lead to two points, 21-19, but Gene Schleeter, William Parks, Payton Jordahl and David Langlie would cement the lead with four consecutive wins.
Parks pinned Justin Rinechias. Langlie, who has been hot of late, defeated Ben Galifus, 7-1, at 189 pounds.
"David has had a nice string of matches," Moser said.
Bryce Dutton would get the last of the Laker points pinning Dan Ingebrand, before Hein took to the center of the ring solo with no competition.
