Aug. 19, 1941-July 8, 2008
Karen G. Hendrickson, 66, of Hitterdal, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2008, in her home, under the care of family and Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Karen was born to Carl and Freida (Nupdal) Johnson on Aug. 19, 1941 in Princeton, Ill. She grew up in Grand Forks, N.D., graduating from high school there in 1959. Following high school she attended Aakers Business College.
On Feb., 12, 1960, Karen married Ronald Hendrickson in Grand Forks. Together they lived in California, Minneapolis, Brownton and Hawley, before settling in Hitterdal. Karen was a very comforting person who enjoyed spending time with friends, playing bingo and shopping for a "good deal," but most of all loved the time spent with her family. She will be dearly missed.
Karen is survived by her husband, Ronald; children, Kari (Walter) Wagnon, Kyle (Julie) Hendrickson and Jason (Kylie) Hendrickson; five grandchildren; siblings, Phil (Nancy) Johnson, Linda (Shorty) Holweger, Alice (Larry) Bell, Carlene Moe and David (Debbie) Johnson.
Preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Jeffrey Hendrickson; and a brother-in-law, Larry Moe.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 10, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at Wright Funeral Home in Hawley.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, July 11, at Salem Lutheran Church in Hitterdal, with interment following at Bethany Lutheran Cemetery in Wolf Lake.
