Kupfer selected to play in Play Ball! Minnesota High School All-Star Series
New York Mills High School graduating senior and baseball standout Brandon Kupfer has been selected to play for the North Team in the 40th Annual Play Ball! Minnesota High School Baseball All-Star Series.
The event will be held at Chaska Athletic Park on June 20 & 21, 2014. The Tournament is presented by the Minnesota State High School Baseball Coaches Association, Play Ball! Minnesota, BiG Athletics, and Cambria. Four - 20 man teams (North, South, Metro East and Metro West) will play a round robin schedule.
Some of the best graduating seniors in the state, from all three levels of high school play will participate. Teams will practice Thursday, June 19 and attend a banquet that evening at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska. Former Minnesota Twins Manager, Tom Kelly will be the guest speaker at the banquet. Friday Morning the all stars will provide two free baseball clinics, one for local youth at Chaska Athletic Field and the second serving youth with physical and mental disabilities at the Miracle League Complex in Minnetonka.
Tickets prices: 6 and under – Free / all others: $ 7 for Friday Session, $ 11 for Saturday (all-day) Session, $ 16 for all-tournament pass.
Twenty-eight alumni of the tournament have made it to Major League Baseball. Decades of all-star and local baseball memorabilia will be on display at the ballpark. More information and team rosters can be found at www.mshsbca.org, (click: MN All-Star Series).
The last Eagle player to play in the tournament was Adam Snelgrove in 2012.
