Lake associations to talk about invasive species
The July meeting of the Otter Tail County Coalition of Lake Associations (COLA) will be held Saturday, July 28 at 9 a.m. at the Community Center in Ottertail.
The group represents property owners on more than 40 lakes throughout Otter Tail County. Its goal is to facilitate cooperation among member lake associations and support their efforts in protecting and enhancing the quality of the lakes and rivers in the county.
The biggest challenge in 2012 will be stopping the spread of Aquatic Invasive Species through education, training and enforcement.
The featured speaker will be Major Phil Meier, the Minnesota DNR Enforcement Division Operations Manager.
The doors to the Ottertail Community Center will be open at 8:30 a.m. for socializing over a cup of coffee prior to the start of the meeting. All meetings are open to the public.
