Lakes Lions propose addition to food shelf
An addition to the Perham Food Shelf complex has been proposed by the Perham Lakes Lions.
The addition would make the town's two Lions clubs neighbors.
The Lakes Lions requested the city donate a parcel, which would enable the club to construct a 36 by 40 foot structure for storage of two trailers, concession supplies and other materials.
The current building houses the Perham Area Food Shelf on the south end. On the north end, the other Perham Lions Club stores its trailers, as well as the Perham Express parade locomotive.
No water or sewer is requested for the project, noted Lion Joel Guck, who brought the proposal to the Perham City Council at the August 10 meeting.
Mayor Kevin Keil asked that Guck and the Lions investigate insurance and liability issues.
In other action at the council meeting, the council announced that it will be accepting sealed bids on the following items:
---A Ford Crown Victoria squad car
---1997 Dodge Caravan
---1988 Plymouth Reliant, mileage at 55,724
---1985 Ford dump truck
---Konica 7045 copier
