Large growth for Perham telecommunications company
Compass Consultants, Inc. of Perham has added 42 employees to its staff since the beginning of the year. This growth has stemmed from the acquisition of several major contracts with clients located throughout Minnesota, including the Twin Cities metro area.
"Compass Consultants has been experiencing a tremendous amount of growth this year due in part to playing a vital role in the expansion of the broadband communications network in the state of Minnesota," said CEO David Schornack. "We're pleased to add these talented individuals to our staff. It's exciting to be playing a major role in expanding the broadband network in Minnesota."
Apart from the project in the Twin Cities, Compass Consultants has been hired by the Northeast Service Cooperative, a non-profit organization, to provide consulting and engineering services for a $43.5 million broadband infrastructure project in the arrowhead region of Minnesota.
"It's exciting to be a part of a project that will facilitate a connection of this nature, and it will have a really positive impact on the area's residents and economy," Schornack said.
A third major project is a $70 million contract to assist with building out a fiber-to-the-home network for residents of Lake County, as well as a segment of St. Louis County. This project is funded by stimulus grants and aims to bring high quality technology to the region.
