Conversational Spanish

Feb. 8, 10, 15, 17,

This class is for those who have not studied Spanish or are looking for a brief refresher. Focus will be on pronunciation, basic expressions, etc. Instructor is Bob Tangen, PHS Spanish teacher. Cost is $20.

Ooey Gooey Fun

Thursday, Feb. 3

6-7:30 p.m.

Family Resource Center/ Kid's Adventure Bldg.

Dress for a mess. In the class, students will play with Play Dough, glurch, goop, finger paint, plus a lot of other ooey, gooey stuff. Participants will also get copies of recipes. Instructor is Amy Kimball. Cost is $5.

Learn more about the social media tool that is taking the world by storm. We'll explore the dos and don'ts, and discover the best ways to get the most out of time on Twitter. Instructor is high school teacher Jeff Morris. Cost is $15.

Students will learn the tools and basics of this photo editing software. Students can crop and size their pictures for e-mailing, make basic photo adjustments including red-eye removal and minor touch-ups. Must have general computer knowledge. This is a hands-on lab class. Instructor is Monica Katzenberger, owner/designer of Katzenjammer Designs. Cost is $25.

Advanced Beginner Dog Obedience

Thursdays, starting

Feb. 10 for six weeks

High school commons

This course is for any dog who needs a refresher on obedience or one that has had a basic obedience class. Dogs should be able to walk on a leash (heel), sit and stay. These concepts will be refined, and dogs will be working on loose leash walking. Instructor is Lucky Dog Boarding and Training Center. Cost is $70.

Guitar Lessons

Beginners: 6-7 p.m.

Advanced: 7:30-8:30 p.m.

Beginning Lessons: Learn open chords, tab, music and some songs. Cost includes chord book, picks, book and CD. Session includes 17 one-hour lessons. Cost is $110/student.

Advanced Lessons: Learn barre chords, syn rhythms, blues, scales, scale patterns, moveable bars and advanced songs. Session includes scale book, picks, two books and CDs. Instructor is Curt Burton. Cost is $120/student.

Preparing Your Estate Plan

March 22 or March 31

7 p.m.

This seminar will focus on the issues to address when developing an estate plan and the importance of working with an estate planning attorney. Participants will learn the function of a will and its effect on the probate process, and the different kinds of trusts available and the benefits and risks they offer. The seminar will also focus on different strategies to decrease estate taxes and passing assets to heirs. Co-presenters are financial advisor Tim Graff and attorney Terry Karkela. Cost is $5.
