Letter to the editor: NY Times alcohol column right on
According to research, alcohol is the third leading cause of death in the United States and contributes to approximately 80,000 deaths per year.
For the majority of people, alcohol is their drug of choice. Something to ponder: Why is it when we hear of a celebrity death, we steer toward the drugs they may have been using rather than the known drug they were abusing - alcohol?
This New York times column, "Drinking and Drugging," written by Frank Buni and published Feb. 18, gives us many things to think about as our society continues to downplay the effects of alcohol on our society.
