Letter to Editor: Thanks to those who made ‘Cotton Club’ a success
Our Heart O’ Lakes Harmony Men’s Barbershop Chorus recently presented our spring show, “The Cotton Club,” at the Kennedy Auditorium in Fergus Falls and at the Historic Holmes Theater in Detroit Lakes. By all accounts, it was a very successful show with large enthusiastic audiences at both venues.
The cast, the chorus, and the featured performers all worked hard to make that so. The set people, the site people, the sound people and many others worked hard behind the scenes to make it such a successful weekend for our chorus. All of these people deserve much of the credit for the show and earned our heartfelt thanks and appreciation for what they did.
One large group that is a key to our success doesn’t often get the recognition and words of thanks that they so richly deserve. We had almost 200 different individuals, corporations and organizations that offered tangible proof of their support.
Without the willingness and promotional effort provided by our sponsors we could never do what we do. Literally hundreds of people attended both concerts because sponsors bought tickets and encouraged their friends and constituents to go. Many of our loyal sponsors raised the level of their support this year and provided more tickets and more encouragement to our community than they had in the past.
Let this letter express our deep and heartfelt appreciation to all of our sponsors for their loyalty and their strong visible support over the years. These sentiments are not just mine but I hear these thoughts expressed vocally by many members of our chorus and I know that all of us feel that way.
I encourage everyone who agrees with me to dig out their programs and look up the names of our sponsors, tell them “thanks” and go out of your way to patronize them. They deserve it.
Dan Vigesaa, Heart of Lakes Harmony
