Lions Club and Babe Ruth Baseball clean-up
The New York Mills Lions Club and Babe Ruth Baseball team have helped in cleaning up debris from fields in the Bluffton Area due to the recent tornado.
"WOW! What a great turnout! On behalf of Tim Johnson (Club President), Jerry McCullough (clean-up organizer), and myself, we want to thank you all (clean-up helpers) so much for showing up to help. In talking to with some of the families who we helped, they also wanted to express their sincere thank you for your help," said Lions Club member Eric Weber.
"We had approximately 20 New York Mills Lions members, five spouses, one dad, one son, four NY Mills Babe Ruth players, a couple from St. Cloud, two people that were just driving by, and a couple of other children that helped out," Weber said. "We were an amazing team and our work was greatly appreciated! We assisted six families (Stinar, Weniger, Rasmusson, Kane, Peters, and Dykoff) who suffered great loss from this tornado.
A special thank you goes out to Jerry and Cindy McCullough for feeding us and for letting us take over their home for bathroom, water, etc. Jerry even came around with gas to fill up our 4-wheelers. Thank you so much!"
Within a couple of weeks, help may be needed again as some of the farmers said they may need help with more clean-up. Requests for help can be made by contacting Tim Johnson, 218-371-9608.
