Loader hits railway bridge
The cab of a front-end loader struck the underside of a railroad bridge at Highway 36 and Sybil Lake Road, near Vergas, at around 10 a.m. on Jan. 4.
The cab was sheared off and came to rest on the roadway, the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office said. The loader was a total loss.
The driver, Chad Jeremy Canton, 39, of Vergas, escaped injury. He was, however, issued a citation for operating an over-height load without a permit.
The trailer and front-end loader were owned by the driver. The tractor doing the pulling was leased to the driver.
