ShirLee is a lifetime resident of Minnesota and the mother of five talented and healthy children. An avid reader and writer since childhood, she graduated in 1990 from the Institute of Children's Literature.
In 2001, as a member of a local writer's group, she submitted an article on this story to Perham's History Museum contest and had it accepted into the Sites to Sights exhibit, which toured several locations. In her spare time, you can find her remodeling and redecorating her 100-year-old home with her husband.
