Local students named to dean's list at NDSU

Brittany M. Bleichner of Battle Lake; Jessica Meissner and Jesse R. Obright of Dent; Dustin R. Torgerson of Henning; Jordan L. Guck, Naomi M. Koehler and Kayse J. Salo of New York Mills; Amber R. Altstadt, Alexander T. Barney, Cavin P. Berube, Roger A. Glander, John M. Lubitz, Maddie L. McClellan, Leah M. Miller, Christi R. Stoll and Jessica J. Tufton of Perham; Tyler J. Brandt and Samantha R. Charest of Richville and Chelsea N. Nordquist and Courntey C. Thompson of Vergas were all named to the dean's list at North Dakota State University.

To be named to the dean's list, students must have earned a 3.50 grade point average or higher and be enrolled in at least 12 class credits.

Peloquin named to dean's list at University of

Wisconsin-Madison

Rebecca Carol Peloquin of Perham was named to the dean's list of the College of Letters and Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for the spring 2011 semester.

To be eligible for the dean's list, students must complete a minimum of 12 credits in a semester.

Olson named to dean's list of South Dakota State University

Katie Ann Olson of Perham was named to the dean's list at the College of Engineering of South Dakota State University for the spring 2011 semester.

To be eligible for the dean's list, students must have completed a minimum of 12 credits and must have earned at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Local students graduate from University of North Dakota

Kelli Baumgartner of Battle Lake; Randy Hermanson of Henning; Kyle Gustafson and Amber Papenfuss of Perham and Tiffany Wischnak of Vergas were all among the 1,456 students who participated in commencement ceremonies at the University of North Dakota on May 14 in Grand Forks, N.D.

Local students named to dean's list at University of North Dakota

Cameron Braun of Ottertail and Whitney Delaney, Nicholas Dockter and Nicholas Stoll of Perham were all named to the dean's list at the University of North Dakota for the spring 2011 semester.

To be eligible for the dean's list at UND, the students' grade point averages must have been within the top 15 percent of enrollment, and students must have completed no fewer than 12 semester hours of academic work for the semester.

Stoll was also named to the president's list at UND. To be eligible for the president's list, students must have had an over cumulative GPA of 3.8 or higher.

Local students named to president's list at M State

Candice Bernu and Lars Hetland of New York Mills has been named to the president's list for the spring 2011 semester at Minnesota State Community and Technical College.

To be eligible for the president's list, students at M State must complete 12 or more credits for the semester with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. The highest attainable average is 4.0.

Local students accepted at University of Minnesota, Crookston

Jason Winkels of Dent and Kyna Biel of New York Mills have been accepted to the University of Minnesota, Crookston, and has registered for fall semester classes, which begin on August 23. Winkels plans to major in agricultural business. Biel plans to major in agricultural education with an emphasis in natural and managed environmental education.

Pulford graduates from Moorhead State University

Jeffrey Pulford of Richville graduated from Moorhead State University on May 13 with a degree in criminal justice. On May 14 he was commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant of the U.S. Army through the ROTC program and as a distinguished Military graduate. He is continuing office's training at Ft. Benning, Ga.

DeConcini receive NDSU scholarships

Alex DeConcini of Perham recently received the North Dakota State Univesrity Mildred Larson Business Presidential Scholarship in the amount of $6,000. The scholarship recognizes high academic achievement.

DeConcini will enter NDSU in the fall and plans to major in actuarial science and minor in statistics.

Dettwiler receives scholarship from Tri County Hospital

Cortney Nicole Dettwiler of New York Mills was recently awarded the 2011 Frances E. Raatikka Memorial Scholarship through Tri County Hospital. Dettwiler studies at Minnesota State University Moorhead. Having achieved a 4.0 grade point average, Dettwiler has been named to the dean's list every semester since she began college in 2009. Dettwiler will graduate with honors in May 2012.
