Submitted photos Former Miss Vergas and current title holder of Miss Moorhead, Makenzi Kovar, won the Non-Finalist Overall Talent Award at Miss Minnesota 2013. Kovar presented a humorous monologue titled “When I Grow Up.” She was awarded a $250 scholarship. Kovar is a 2012 graduate of Perham High School. Submitted photo2 / 2

Lexi Moe of Vergas, participated in the Northern Lights Princess Program during Miss Minnesota competition week last week.

She was crowned by Miss Minnesota 2012, Siri Freeh and Miss Minnesota Outstanding Teen 2013, Corrina Swiggum. Moe currently holds the title of Red River Valley Princess and will be a fifth grader at Prairie Wind Middle School in Perham.

Miss Perham, Leah Wuebben, will report on her experience at the Miss Minnesota Pageant in next week’s Focus.
