Local students win health care scholarships
Perham Health announces the recipients of its 2014 Health Care Career Educational Scholarships.
Five area students pursuing careers in the health care field were each awarded a $1,000 scholarship.
The scholarship program is intended to encourage people to enter or advance themselves in a health care career, and is awarded to high school seniors or post-secondary students residing in the Perham Health service area.
This year’s recipients are:
A 2011 Perham High School graduate, Helmeke attends the University of North Dakota and is majoring in biology as a pre-medicine student. Her parents are Brad and Pat Helmeke.
Ukkelberg, of Battle Lake High School, will attend the University of Minnesota in Morris for psychology, and further graduate in physical therapy. His parents are Ross and Theresa Ukkelberg.
Heier, of Perham High School, will study pre-pharmacy at North Dakota State University. Her parents are Timothy and Barbara Heier.
Still, of Perham High School, will pursue physical therapy at Concordia College in Moorhead. His parents are David and Dana Still.
Fudge, of Perham High School, is enrolled at St. Scholastica in Duluth, in the physical therapy program. Her parents are Chris and Angie Fudge.
