Mamie Cordelia Bennett, 95, of Cohasset, Minn., died on Nov. 6, 2013 at Maple Woods Assisted Living in Cohasset. She was born in 1918 to Archie and Mabel Elwess in Linton, N.D. She grew up in Richville and married Everett Huntington on Aug. 22, 1936. Everett passed away in 1975. Mamie moved to the Grand Rapids, Minn. area in 1940 and was employed with Itasca Hospital for 21 years. She retired in 1978. On Sept. 7, 1979, Mamie married Frank "Bud" Bennett in Cody, Neb., where they made their home.

Mamie enjoyed making quilts, crocheting, and crafts in general. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, Women of the Moose, and American Legion Auxiliary in Cody.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Archie and Mabel Elwess; first husband, Everett Huntington; second husband, Frank "Bud" Bennett; daughter, Della; brother, Melvin Elwess; sisters, Edith Bullock and Grace DeHart; and granddaughter, JoAnne Hemphill.

Mamie is survived by sons, Archie (Linda) Huntington, Arthur (Diane) Huntington, Edwin (Cindy) Huntington and Daniel Huntington; daughter, Bonnie Smith; brother, Cecil (Alice) Elwess; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. service on Sunday, Nov. 10 at United Methodist Church in Grand Rapids, Minn. Pastor Al Bolte will officiate.
