Man charged with attempted murder after drug-related shooting
Fikret Saric, 28, of Pelican Rapids, has been charged with attempted murder in connection with a drug-related shooting incident earlier this month.
Saric was charged in Otter Tail County Court Oct. 9. According to court records, the official charge is second-degree intent to commit murder, unpremeditated. This relates to a shooting incident in Pelican Rapids at 11:10 p.m. Oct. 4, when a bullet struck a vehicle.
Court records state the shooting is tied to an illegal purchase of marijuana. One of the car's occupants reportedly entered a home to make the drug purchase, while at least two others stayed outside. Saric allegedly came out of the house and fired at the car. A car chase then took place.
On Oct. 6, law enforcement executed a search warrant at 2nd St. NW in Pelican Rapids, where authorities found a .40 caliber brass round in a bag of raked leaves.
Saric's next court appearance will be on Oct. 22.
