Man escapes injury in Parkers Prairie crash
A man escaped injury in a vehicle accident on Sunday on the west side of Parkers Prairie, near the intersection of Highway 235 and 555th Avenue, according to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, driven by 22-year-old Arnold Thoenness III of Parkers Prairie, crossed over the roadway at 3:45 p.m., entered the south ditch of Highway 235 and then collided with road signs before coming into contact with a steep approach. The vehicle came to a rest, upright in the ditch and still facing west.
Thoenness was the lone occupant of the vehicle, sustaining some apparent superficial abrasions to the face and experiencing soreness in his lower back. He was evaluated by the Parkers Prairie Ambulance Service but was not transported to a hospital. He was released into the custody of his fiancé.
The vehicle was heavily damaged. Authorities said alcohol may have been a factor in the incident.
