Man sentenced for burglary
James Robert Loerzel, 23, of 455 Fifth Street N.W., Perham has been sentenced for felony third-degree burglary, possession of tools.
On Jan. 18 he was one of three people caught by deputies inside 59 Trade Road Pawn shop in Detroit Lakes. They had pried open a door with a long-handled screwdriver, which was found in Loerzel's possession, and there were three bags inside containing video game equipment, electric guitars and similar items, according to court records.
All three admitted they had been caught in the middle of a burglary, according to court records.
Loerzel pleaded guilty June 26 and on July 23 District Judge Joe Evans stayed imposition of sentence for 10 years. Loerzel was placed on supervised probation and ordered to serve 45 days in jail, with work release privileges, and to pay a $1,000 fine plus fees. Restitution has yet to be determined.
He was also ordered to get a chemical use assessment and follow the recommendations.
