Anthony Edward Mitchell, 36, was charged with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and another charge of possession of a weapon after a previous conviction.

Authorities say Mitchell became angry after racial terms were exchanged between him and other attendees of the street dance. Alcohol was also a factor in the incident, police say.

Authorities said one group from Wadena and another from Deer Creek started arguing and began to fight at a street dance early Sunday morning.

Mitchell left the scene, police say, and was later located in Staples, Minn.

His girlfriend, Jill Kobliska, was also arrested.

This isn't the first time Mitchell will serve jail time.

Mitchell was convicted in 2007 of second degree assault. After the July incident, Mitchell was arrested and held on a $200,000 bond at the Otter Tail County Jail, according to news reports.

Mitchell also had to pay roughly $100 in court fees. He could be released early if he is not involved in any incidents in prison.
