Many kids had ‘Paws to Read’ at the Perham library this summer

 Perham Area Public Library’s summer reading season wrapped up with a final book giveaway on Aug. 12.

 A total of 179 children participated in the program, reading a total of 3,173 books in June and July.

 The theme of this year’s children’s summer reading program was “Paws to Read.”

 Dozens of children met the summer reading program’s goal of reading at least 24 books and were rewarded with a certificate and free book.

 Top readers in their grades for the summer were: Tristan Burkman, Joanna Dardis, Isabella Burkman, Nathaniel Stenersen, Hailey Neihaus, Erika Stenerson, Jacob Daniels, Emma Stenerson, Emma Daniels and John Rader.
