Former Detroit Lakes resident Margaret J. "Peggy" Aga, 68, of Eagan, Minn., died Saturday, March 29, 2008 after a courageous, brief battle with cancer.
Margaret Jean Finn, also known as Peggy, was born to William and Shirley (Kraeckman) Finn on Aug. 24, 1939, in Chicago, Ill. Peggy moved to California in 1951, and graduated from Pasadena High School in 1957. She married Rhuben Oscar Aga on June 20, 1957, in Pasadena, Calif. They divorced in 1995, and remained very good friends. Their union was blessed with three children.
During her life, Peggy lived various places in Minnesota, Iowa, and California, and resided in Detroit Lakes from 1974-88, when Rhuben was the pastor at First Lutheran Church. She moved to Eagan in the year 2000.
Peggy was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend, and her beautiful spirit lives on in the hearts of all those who were truly blessed to know her.
Surviving Peggy are her three children, Beverly (Paul) Schmidt of Eagan, David (Leslie) Aga of Denver, Colo., and Glenn (Tina) Aga of Arlington, Va.; their father Rhuben Aga of Eagan; five grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and countless friends.
Preceding Peggy in death were her parents and one sister, Patti Finn Gange.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at Easter Lutheran Church in Eagan.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
