A Funeral Mass was held for Margaret Steinbach, 93, of New York Mills, on Nov. 29 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Butler, with Fr. Matthew Kuhn officiating. Pallbearers were Steve Steinbach, Rick Steinbach, Glen Steinbach, Travis Olson, Patrick Matti and Brent Steinbach. Margaret was laid to rest in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Butler.
Margaret Cecila Dulski was born on July 2, 1919 in Perham to Joseph and Nancy (Skibitski) Dulski. Margaret grew up in Perham. On Oct. 24, 1939, Margaret was united in marriage to Walter Edward Steinbach at St. Stanislaus in Perham. Their marriage was blessed with seven children. Marga-ret and Walter lived in Corliss for two years and then moved to Butler for one year. In 1942, they moved to a farm north of New York Mills in Homestead Township. They farmed there for 32 years, retiring in 1974. After retiring, they moved into New York Mills. Walter passed away on June 8, 2000 after a courageous battle with cancer. Margaret continued to live in their home in New York Mills. She had resided at Home Sweet Home since Feb. 1, 2011. Margaret passed away on Nov. 26 at Perham Health in Perham. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Preceding Margaret in death were her parents; her husband, Walter; son, Roger; daughters-in-law, Jeanne Steinbach and Martha Dulski; and brothers, Sylvester, Edward, Andrew and Michael.
Margaret is survived by her loving sons, Jim (Darlene) Steinbach of New York Mills, Robert (MaryAnn) Steinbach of Sebeka and William Steinbach of New York Mills; daughters, Joyce (Tom) Andrews of Collierville, Tenn., Judy (Brian) Olson of Milaca and Mary Matti and Steve Bohne of New York Mills; 19 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; sisters, Francis Breitenfeldt of Minneapolis and Laverne Balcer of Perham; sisters-in-law, Johanna Dulski of New York Mills, Delores Minten of Perham, Helen Steinbach of Michigan and Janice (John) Wientjes; many other relatives and a host of friends.
