Mari Jo French, 44, of Blackduck, Minn., died on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at her home near Blackduck.

Mari Jo was born to Marvin Joseph and Evelyn Marie (Brown) French on Sept. 15, 1963 in Park Rapids. She grew up at Pine Point and attended elementary school in Osage, then went to Park Rapids Area schools, graduating in l982. She attended the Northwest Technical School in Bemidj, graduating from there in l999.

Mari Jo had many hobbies and talents -- beading, bingo playing, going to the casino, Little League Baseball, softball, hazelnut and berry picking, fishing and being with friends and family. She was an exceptional wife and mother. Mari Jo was very happy to be able to see and enjoy her new grandson, Jayson.

Mari Jo is survived by her husband, Carl Budde of Blackduck; six daughters Jodi and Jaimi Chesley, Jennifer French; Sonja, Silvia and Shannon Budde; one grandson; her father Marvin French; four sisters, Sam, Gezis and Marlee French and Everyl Boswell; four brothers, Jared, Jeremy, Marvin, Jr. and Robert French; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her mother, Evelyn M. French; four uncles, Robert, William, John and Charles (Buzz) Brown; one cousin, David Fairbanks; one aunt, Linda Dormanen; maternal grandparents, Charles and Nancy Brown; paternal grandparents, Margaret Davis and Isiah French; and special friend Mike Chesley.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at the Old Pine Point School with the Rev. Carol "Coke" Cokesmith officiating. Internment was in the Breck Memorial Cemetery at Ponsford.

Active pallbearers are David French, John and Cliff Crowell, Anthony Fairbanks, Delmas Fairbanks and Harold Budde. Honorary pallbearers are Emily Fairbanks, Donna Crowell, Martha, Sam and Gezis French, Everyl Boswell and Evelyn Boswell.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Cease Family Funeral Home of Blackduck and Park Rapids.
