‘Merry minions’ take first in Perham’s Parade of Lights
After Black Friday shopping was over in Perham last Friday, the Christmas tree in NP Park was lit up and the 13th annual Parade of Lights took over the streets of downtown.
Businesses turned off all their lights so that the floats would shine especially bright, and people lined the streets of Perham to watch.
After the parade, awards for the best float were given out at SteVelly’s while attendees enjoyed free chili.
Tyler Krumwiede, one of the parade’s organizers, said Perham Health took third place, Dreams for Kids came in second and Perham Family Dentistry’s “Merry Minions” won first place. The Perham Hockey float and Arvig Relay for Life both won $50 in Perham Bucks in a drawing, as well.
The annual parade is always held the Friday after Thanksgiving, starting at dusk.
